Baseball New Zealand Announces New, National Performance, Pathways & Player Development Manager


Kiwi catcher and baseball specialist steps back onto home soil to take up the position of National Performance, Pathways and Player Development Manager with Baseball New Zealand.

 

Baseball NZ is excited to announce that Connar O’Gorman will be heading home to NZ, to join the front office of Baseball NZ and continue his well-established baseball career here, growing and developing the game he loves in NZ.

 

Connar, has been a baseballer his whole life, playing junior baseball all the way through to a lengthy professional baseball career that has taken him around the globe.  In loving and living baseball, Connar undertook tertiary education in strength and condition leading to working closely with both multi-disciplinary athletes and baseball players in physical and sport specific training and conditioning. 

 

Connar’s knowledge and experience in athlete development and baseball is extensive, having held positions with Baseball Canberra - Performance and Pathways Manager and Baseball Queensland - Game Development Manager.  Along with continual professional development in undertaking USA Baseball Level A, B & C and Drive Line Youth Coaching accreditations.

 

Baseball NZ CEO Meg Crockett said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be able to add Connar to our team here in NZ and look forward to him bringing fresh eyes to the NZ baseball landscape as we work to rebuild our national performance and pathways programs.”

 

Connar is no stranger to baseball in NZ having donned the black pinstripe as a catcher and key contributor for the NZ Men Diamondblack’s team over the last few years. 

 

Connar now prepares to jump the Tasman and head back to NZ, embarking on a new journey with Baseball NZ, our team, and the NZ baseball community, from mid-April.
