Baseball Kicks off World Masters Games 2017

Baseball has kicked off the 2017 World Masters Games in style at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga.
With the grand WMG2017 Opening Ceremony to be staged on Friday evening at Auckland's Eden Park, Baseball was the first sport to hit the fields with fixtures starting at 8.30am on the Lloyd Elsmore diamonds.
With teams from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, USA and Asia, baseball may be one of the smaller sports in the games, but interest is high with many families and supporters around the world keeping a close on the activities of players involved in the Games.
With 16 teams from all over the world playing in three categories, the action will be hot as the autumn weather takes hold and the four kiwi teams competing are looking feature come medal time at the conclusion of the tournament.
Howick-Pakuranga has two teams entered, the Greyhawks and Blackhawks, while Central City has the Lumsden Mustangs while North Shore is represented by NZ North.
